Within military rotary wing simulation, L-3 Link has delivered 23 training suites for the U.S. Army's Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) program. AVCATT provides realistic, collective, networked training involving five Army platforms. Each AVCATT suite -- which is designed as a mobile, transportable training system housed in two 53-foot trailers -- has reconfigurable manned module simulators for platforms including the AH-64D, AH-64A, OH-58D, UH-60A/L and CH-47D platforms. In addition, each AVCATT suite enables commanders to control the training exercise from a Battle Master Control room and upon mission completion allow aircrews to review mission effectiveness from AVCATT's After Action Review room.
L-3 Link also is a key team member on the U.S. Army's Flight School XXI program. To date we have delivered over 30 training devices to the program. These devices simulate the UH-60A/L, CH-47D/F, AH-64A/D and OH-58D platforms. Annually, Flight School XXI trains over 1,500 new student pilots and 1,600 rated aviators.
