Three Raytheon Facilities Cited For James S. Cogswell
Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award

ARLINGTON, Texas, Nov. 10, 1999 - Three Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTNA, RTNB) facilities have joined an elite group of 47 government contractor facilities nationwide that have been awarded the 1999 Department of Defense James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award.

The Raytheon facilities that received this award are part of a select group that represents less than one-half of one percent of the 12,000 eligible government contractors.

Raytheon's two Flight Simulation business unit facilities, located in Arlington, Texas and Kirkwood, N.Y., have been chosen independently to receive this security award. Raytheon Technical Services Company's Government Training Services division, also based in Arlington, Texas, also has been selected to receive this prestigious security award.

The Cogswell award, which is administered by the Defense Security Service as part of the National Industrial Security Program, is presented to organizations that have demonstrated excellence in improving security performance, practices and capabilities by implementing and maintaining rational, threat appropriate security measures. Award criteria include an organization's leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, information and analysis, security awareness and security program results.

Raytheon's Flight Simulation business unit is a world leader in the design of pilot training simulators for aircraft including the F-22, B-2, F-117, F/A-18, F-16, C-130, T-45 and a wide range of U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps helicopters. Raytheon's Government Training Systems division specializes in the development of training equipment and curricula, contractor logistics support, aircrew training, training equipment modification and interactive distance learning.
