ARLINGTON, TX, February 10, 2005 -- L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has presented Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3) David Fallon with the 2004 Army Aviation Association of America Trainer of the Year award.
CW3 Fallon, who is with the 2nd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, distinguished himself while serving as an MH-47E flight lead, standardization instructor pilot and instrument examiner. The Army noted that CW3 Fallon “performed flawlessly on every combat and training mission“ and demonstrated to fellow aviators “the direct relationship between focused peacetime training and combat operations“ in his deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in both the Philippines and Afghanistan.

Building on his experience from his recent deployments, CW3 Fallon developed training programs for his battalion to increase the number of aviators and crewmembers qualified on over water flight, deck landings and special operations aviation mission tasks. In addition, CW3 Fallon created training for junior basic mission qualified aviators that enabled them to build on their aviation knowledge and instituted programs for senior basic mission qualified aviators that enabled some to progress to fully mission qualified status. CW3 Fallon also was cited for identifying a void and volunteering to create an MH-47E instructor pilot course.
